ABOUT US

Life today can be difficult and we are often reluctant to share the burden of emotional states such as anxiety and depression with others. Careers, family relationships, health issues, parenting, life transitions, and just general uncertainty about our futures are all factors that impact us and create challenges that wear on us day after day. These challenges can become overwhelming to face alone; We often feel as if we have lost control over our lives.

The first step in taking back control and living an authentically joyful life is deciding to do something about it. If you are reading this, it is likely that you have already made this crucial decision. Making an appointment with me today will start you on your journey towards feeling better and more empowered.

MY PRACTICE

I offer both in-person and on-line sessions. In-person sessions are held at my Westport office, however, my patients come from all over Fairfield county. I provide psychotherapy and EMDR to people experiencing many impactful mental health conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, PTSD, panic attacks, and trauma, both simple and complex.

For those without significant mental health issues, who are seeking simply to navigate life’s transitions and current stressors or to improve relationships, I offer short term, consultation sessions. In these sessions, we seek to identify current goals and objectives, any barriers to achieving these, and then, together, we develop strategies to remove these barriers which can include improving communication skills, coping with negative automatic thoughts, improvement of time management, and reduction of stress.

I also specialize in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). I design and complete autism diagnostic evaluations for individuals of all ages. Adults and preschoolers are two age groups for whom obtaining such evaluations can be difficult. With preschoolers (as well as school aged children) the wait time in the state of Connecticut for an evaluation can extend up to a year and beyond. Adults often cannot find a qualified provider to diagnose ASD in individuals from age groups beyond adolescence. I am here to offer this service to families and individuals struggling to find a provider who can complete a timely and quality evaluation for multiple purposes that may include: obtaining in-home applied behavior analysis services, seeking accommodations/modifications in an educational setting, and for self-knowledge. Oftentimes, adults who suspect they have ASD are seeking information to explain why they experience the world the way they do.
